Kirkham

This is a small market-town, with a population of 3,380, employed in the cotton, linen, sacking, and sail-cloth manufactures. There are remains of an old Norman church. The present edifice was built in 1822. It has a good Grammar School. In the vicinity is Ribby Hall the seat of H. Hornby, Esq.
