Bradshaw’s Guide

A telegraph station, and distant 25½ miles from Dublin. A little to the left of the line is the Curragh Race Course, the “Newmarket” of Ireland, on a fine down 6 miles long; also an encampment on a large scale, rendered memorable by the temporary sojourn of the Prince of Wales in the summer of 1861, to acquire a more thorough knowledge of military discipline.
