The terminus of the railway, and beautifully situated at the confluence of the Tanar with the Dee, and surrounded with hills thickly covered with wood on every side. Aboyne Castle, the’ seat of the Marquis of Huntly, is close at hand, surrounded by extensive forests ot natural pine and birch. The village of Charleston of Aboyne is a most delightful spot. Aboyne offers an excellent starting point for the tourist to visit the picturesque scenery extending between Babater, Braemar, and Balmoral.
