The fine steeples of St. Michael’s and Trinity are the first to strike one in this old city, which is the seat of the ribbon trade.

After leaving Coventry, on this branch the unimportant stations of Counden Road, Foleshill, Longford, and Hawkesbury Lane, are quickly passed, and we arrive at

Warwickshire : Bedworth

In the vicinity is Arbury Ball, seat of C. N. Newdegate, Esq., M.P.

Chilvers Coton station.

Warwickshire : Nuneaton

Here are remains of a nunnery of Stephen’s time, old Gothic church, grammar school, and ribbon manufactures.

The South Leicestershire line begins here, and is a single line of rails, 15 miles long from Nuneaton to its junction with the Midland at Wigston Magna, about 2 miles south of Leicester.
